[Syrupmakers] me 81

Have been saving seed from my M81 crop for the last 5 years.  This year the seeds came up sporadically and of different heights.  All was very spindly at the harvest time, but the height seemed to even out some.  Could this be weather related (too much rain) or seed deteriation dut to the fact that M81 is a HYbred?  Anyone have any thoughts?   Thanks    Charles
