We had to slow it down to the right speed.</span></div><div id="yiv9653906614yui_3_16_0_1_1446299944331_47734"><span><br clear="none"></span></div><div id="yiv9653906614yui_3_16_0_1_1446299944331_47736"><span id="yiv9653906614yui_3_16_0_1_1446299944331_47735">As for the bushings that are babbitt, you do have several choices. While checking out a machine shop for a different project, I came across a shop that had fabricated both brass and aluminum bushings that were fitted to a bearing retainer. Machine shop made a new retainer based on the babbitted retainers someone had brought to him ("bearing shell" not sure what they are called) and as you do with babbitt, you use a food grade grease lubricant. I sent out that information to someone in the last year or so. If your mill was like the one we use (removable bearing retainers), you can take the bearing shells to a good machine shop and see what they can build. I don't know the cost.</span></div><div id="yiv9653906614yui_3_16_0_1_1446299944331_47736"><span><br clear="none"></span></div><div dir="ltr" id="yiv9653906614yui_3_16_0_1_1446299944331_47736"><span id="yiv9653906614yui_3_16_0_1_1446299944331_47826">If you want to use babbitt, you will have to find someone who can pour babbitt. Babbitt was used in most early automobile engines, so you will want to search the internet for pouring babbitt and also you can try contacting some antique car clubs to find out if they know of shops or people who can pour babbitt. Ford used babbitt in their Model T and Chevrolet used it along with other makers. One source that did pour babbitt in the past was located in Rochester, NY and the business was Rochester Lead Works. I do not know if they are still in business or not.</span></div><div id="yiv9653906614yui_3_16_0_1_1446299944331_47737"><span><br clear="none"></span></div><div dir="ltr" id="yiv9653906614yui_3_16_0_1_1446299944331_47738">I hope this helps you get your mill up and running.
