I don't know why more folks didn't get messages, but there were several on here in September and October. I got them. Before that it was April when the previous messages were sent---according to the Syrupmakers Archive. They can be read at: http://syrupmakers.net/mailman/listinfo/syrupmakers_syrupmakers.net   Hasn't been a year by any means. Just considerable inactivity, I guess. I don't make syrup anymore. Spend time doing other stuff. I have the impression that syrupmaking has waned a bit. Quincy, FL has not had their Sugarcane Field Day in about 3 years now. The Pioneer settlement at Blountstown still makes some syrup every year around Thanksgiving.

Did he retire or something? I found where to get the CP 44-155 sugarcane variety in LA.
