[Syrupmakers] Diatomaceous Earth?

A tea spoon of baking soda per cup of water. Add slowly cause it will cause
the juice to rise fast and boil from the kettle. But as mentioned before, I
just heard of this being used to make the juice rise to cooking height.
Haven't heard about the separation with it though
