I don’t have a clue, as I wait until a freeze is forecast before I cut my cane for syrup.  That’s as high a sugar content as possible … I guess.

 

I just took a beating from this latest storm Irma … some of mine is blown over on my acre.

  I always cut a stalk of cane for a brix sample and feel bad that i lost that stalk for productivity.  Can anyone tell me how to get a juice sample without cutting the whole cane out of the patch?
