[Syrupmakers] Mulch in sugar cane crop

[BenNet Personal]

I have about an acre of cane is south GA ... this year I'm leaving the
fodder and tops from last years crop on the ground for mulch to help with
conserving moisture and to help suppress the weeds. Anyone have a comment on
this practice?
