How do the keep bottom of stalk out of ground after cutting? Or does the momentum just keep it falling and that keeps it out from ground?

I only had around 1/3 of acre of sorghum cane this year. I stripped it in the field. I cut it by hand mostly by myself. Next year I will more than likely have twice that amount. I will still strip before cutting like I did this year. I looked at purchasing a corn binder for cutting. Is this a good way to cut that amount or is there a better way? Or am I better of still cutting by hand? I also though about cutting with sickle mower and making a catch for cane. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
