Hi, Hosley   Most herbicides are neutralized by soil contact. So cane eyes should be fine. Young sprouts are a different matter. I would say consult the label for sprouted cane.   Nice to hear you on the forum again!            Richard Harrison

Subject: [Syrupmakers] sugar cane weed control

Need help, planting a small area of soft chewing cane would like to apply a
herbicide after planting  to control pig weeds and not damage cane
seed/eyes.  Thanks
