[Syrupmakers] Birds

How does your sorghum fare with the birds?  Do the birds eat the seed
before you can collect it?  I'm growing an OP milo that I was going to use
for flour in my mill, but the birds are wiping it out before it even
ripens.  I was planning to grow some sorghum for syrup and seed next year,
but was concerned how it does with birds.
